ALL THE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW...

Hey Everyone!

It has been a VERY long time since I did a blog post. Months and months. And the result is I have so much to say and so much to cover that I am inevitably going to miss some things out even if I do a super small condensed version of events, which is what I am going to do lol...so....lets do this in sections.

GENERAL and DISTRIBUTION
In the last 4 years, Kniteforce has doubled in sized every 6 months. When Cindy and I moved back from the USA, we were running the entire business, all the vinyl stock and everything, from a single garage - half of it was stock and a place to pack orders, the other half was the studio. Glyn, John, Lee, and Paul were helping on a part time basis, but that was it.
Now we are working from our warehouse and shop, and we have about 30 labels that we manage as far as pressing and distribution goes, about 100 labels using Kniteforce for Distribution, and there are five of us full time and two part time - Glyn, Paul, John, Adam, Jamie, Cindy and myself.
And it's not enough to cope with all the work coming in.
New labels are joining us almost weekly for distribution, and we now manufacture all our own merchandise, the physical shop is going from strength to strength and our online store is expanding at an incredible pace, and we are already out of space in the warehouse. In the new year we are going to have to do something about that - either find a bigger space or an adjacent space, and also hire more staff.

So that side of things is ridiculous. Ridiculous pretty much sums it up actually lol...

NEW RELEASES and UPCOMING THINGS...
I am sure this is the bit that most of you are most interested in. Well, as the distribution, merchandise, and physical / online shop have grown, so have the labels. In recent months we have had the absolute pleasure to release a ton of brand new material from some of the best artists in the industry....and on top of that, we have been gifted with the represses of The Moog, Anthill Mob, Cloud Nine, Nicky Blackmarket, Bug Kann & The Plastic Jam, Gappa G & Hyper Hypa, Hyper-On Experience, and some of the older Kniteforce and Remix Records releases....but...theres a LOT more to come...lets do it in order...

MEGA CITY 2
First up is the much anticipated Mega City 2 Box Set.
I am very excited for this one - I only had one or two of the original EPs back in the day, and some of the others I had actually never heard until we got to discussing the repress. What I especially like about this set is that Mega City 2 have the same interesting and eclectic variety of style as some of my other heroes - Automation, Hyper-On Experience, Eon and others - and the music varies between older rave, jungle and dark side breakbeat tunes...and like some of those mentioned, this repress is an opportunity to really showcase an act that many of you might have missed.
The set comes as seven vinyl EPs, five of which that are direct represses and are all carefully remastered, plus an EP of new remixes from Hyper-On Experience, Sikka, and Staunch VIP. We then have an EP with the very hard to find and never properly released "Tormented" Remix of Darker Side Of Evil, and the set comes with stickers and a slipmat,
There will be two versions of it available - a colour vinyl version that is limited to only 90 copies, and a black vinyl version.
The presale for this set opens this Thursday the 16th of October. Official release date is 30th of October, and we expect to ship out the first week of November. At that point, should we have any singles left, they will go for sale as well.

FOUL PLAY

A while ago John from Foul Play approached me about the possibility of licensing and repressing the back catalogue from Moving Shadow. After a bit of work, we managed to broker a deal with Moving Shadow to do just that, so we are very excited to announce that we are repressing ALL of the Moving Shadow Foul Play releases alongside a set of brand new remixes hand picked by Foul Play including Blame, Madcap, and Settle Down. We have gone all out with this one as Foul Play are one of the most influential and important acts of the old skool and early jungle / drum & bass scene and absolutely deserve a timeless and perfect collectors edition.
We have a spectacular fold out wraparound hard case sleeve for this box set which you will have to see to believe, and every track has of course been lovingly remastered from the original DAT source. The vast majority of the EPs are recut in the same way the originals were as far as track line up goes and what appears where...there will be more information on this shortly.
This set will be released on the 16th of November at The Run Out, and as a presale on the Kniteforce website, and it is expected to ship for on the 1st of December so everyone can enjoy a very Foul Play Christmas.

KNITEFORCE REPRESSES
We have been busy at work at KFHQ gathering up some Kniteforce represses...its an odd thing, but its only recently I started to really think about repressing directly from my own catalogue lol. I guess it's because new things are much more interesting to me than old things, and of course I pressed all the KF catalogue back in the day so for me they are old things and even tho I love them, I just didnt think of it. But after releasing some of the early Jimmy J & Cru-l-t EPs, and the 'Remixes' series, it has become very evident that a lot of you would really want the repress and remaster of the original early Kniteforce and Remix Records releases so....you can look forward to these ones landing very soon. Oh, and yes, that IS KFSE01 - the limited 10" that was part of a series we never really finished...we did 4 of the 5 back in the day, and then for some reason, I did the Future Sound Of Hardcore album rather than finishing the set properly. Well, we are gonna do all of them this time, and a few bonus ones featuring our newer Kniteforce Family artists...and yes, they will come in the special plastic bag too. The KFSE releases will be limited to 200 copies, and will be exclusive to the Kniteforce site....

NEBULA 2
I am thrilled that we are going to be repressing the Nebula 2 back catalogue, including the work that appeared on the marvellous Reinforced Records and the J4M releases...I cannot say to much about this deal yet, because while it is all signed and certain, we are still finalising the artwork, line up and all the rest. All I can say is, I am super excited because one of the heaviest, most no holds barred tracks ever released, "Athema", is going to appear on MY label. That is AMAZING. And that is just one track from an artist whose legacy is epic in every sense. Flatliners is a complete tune of course, and there are classic gems like that all the way through the Nebula 2 catalogue. But as we are not 100% finished with what we are doing and how, I don't have any artwork to show you yet, although I have seen where we are so far, and it and its superb...the format and all that is still being worked out, and the Nebula 2 releases will be due early in 2026.

MUSIC MADNESS
Here is a label that was very rough and ready, but also very, very awesome and the tunes were played everywhere back in the day...we have the two Pseudo 3 EPs being prepared as we speak. I personally love these EPs, and we have plans to do a bunch of other releases from the label owner on this one - I didn't know, and many of you might not know, but he had a hand in many absolute bangers from the old skool. So I am excited to see how this pans out...
As with Nebula 2, we have not yet finalised everything, so I do not have a release date, but I expect to cut these two before Xmas for an early 2026 releases....

FORMATION RECORDS and F-PROJECT
Haha, I know a lot of you will lose your minds on this one. A deal has been done, the contracts signed, and the first TWELVE EPs are being prepared to be mastered (remastered) by Beau at Ten Eight Seven, and cut and pressed. Formation and F-Project has SUCH a huge and coveted back catalogue, that we expect this one to be continuous over the next two or three years. Even though Dj SS and I do have a plan that is already in motion, we do not want to say too much about what is coming and when at this point.
All I will say is, everything is being carefully remastered, everything is on the table, and we will start cutting the first ones before Xmas for an early 2026 release. And from then on, we will be steadily releasing music from Formation and F-Project every few months as things become ready....

The maddest bit about all this is that everything I have listed? Its just the tip of the iceberg on all that is going on. We have new releases, other represses and a list as long as a giants arm of things that I can't even fit in this blog...So hold tight....if you thought things were crazy already, its about to get a whole lot crazier....

Nice one,

Chris

I know Robin Allison (RIP) wanted to do these with MPS (Formation and F-Project); but unfortunately he never got to do them - I’m sure this is something he would have wanted to happen. Great news from the blogster.

Haha, I was just to ask if there is ever going to be a new blog entry at all. Wow, best news! (but also bad news for my wallet...) May I ask, if there will be new releases from NRG and ACEN upcoming as well? Has become a bit quiet there in the last 18 month, also regarding remixes...

Wow…great news on winning Leroy round with the Formation & F-Project titles. I’ve been struggling to edit out pops on some of my vinyls, hopefully there will be a digital release of these too, maybe on USB? In the meantime, it’s worth trying to shutdown the bootlegger on Bandcamp who seems quite active at the moment; https://fprojectrecords.bandcamp.com/music …btw…if you need the elusive FORM010 (Big Bad Head) I’ve got it on vinyl, willing to share with you (if needed!) To whet your whistle, here’s a nice documentary about the Leicester scene; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LVNBncJmZ8U

Wish I could work there. Will work for wax lol. I really wish playing vinyl was more affordable across the pond. Each rec plus shipping is just sad these days over here. Being that all the music I want comes from over there and also factor in the $ vs gdp, we just lose big over here. All these dream recs being repressed just makes me bummed. Crying rant over... Love what you guys continue to do. You all have done sooooooo much. Cheers

Insane news on all of the represses coming down the pipeline, thank you so much. As DoctorQuinn mentioned, it's great the F-Project releases are finally gonna be done. RIP Robin I don't suppose you ever considered repressing the Sy-Kick stuff?
